Tank For Chromium Plating

Have many years chromium plating were used of lead lined steel. Antimony lead lining have bee used widely to resist from corrosion in chromic acid solution that is greater from chemical lead. Tin-lead lining are superior to anitomonial lead in corrosion resistance. Other typical of lining which have proven can give a satisfactory service consist of flexible synthetic resin sheets (plasticized polyvinyl chloride) cemented to the steel tank and welded at seams and corners. This type of lining saves space compared to a brick lining but is generally not recommended for high temperature above 60 degree Celsius.

Beside of that plastic lining type, sprayed plastisol lining are also being used, but their probability of life has not become evident yet. They have the advantage of being seamless and need several coats that each of which coat has to be baked in a large oven.
Other coated material use special insulating materials from vinyl type to withstand the action of chromium plating solution but this coating material quickly dissolve in nitrocellulose and most organic resin. These insulator are used in sheet, rod, tube, and other form.

The tank accomplished with lead alloy coils that is submerged in the solution which cool the solution when operate. Tantalum coils and heat exchanger have come to be used extensively for their extremely long life and efficient operation.
